Lately, I've found myself squinting at my laptop screen 💻 more often than not 😩.

Lately, I've found myself squinting at my laptop screen more often than not. The fine print on documents, my phone, even recipe books – it all seemed a little blurrier than I remembered. My eyes felt constantly strained by the end of the day, a tell-tale sign that age was finally catching up with my vision. I needed a reliable pair of reading glasses, but not just any old pair. I wanted something that looked good, felt comfortable, and importantly, offered blue light protection to ease the digital eye strain that was becoming a real nuisance. Generic drugstore glasses just weren't cutting it anymore; they felt flimsy, often distorted my vision, and frankly, weren't doing my self-esteem any favors. I yearned for that crisp clarity, that effortless transition between screen and book, without the discomfort or the tell-tale red marks on my nose. It was clear I needed an upgrade, something specifically designed for my hyperopic needs and the demands of modern screen time. This nagging discomfort and the desire for a stylish yet practical solution truly fueled my search.

My journey led me online, as most things do these days. I started browsing different eyewear retailers, comparing styles, prices, and features. Cinily Eyewear popped up frequently in my searches, boasting a wide range of stylish options, including what they called "Anti Blue Light Reading Glasses" that promised to be ultralight and effective. The idea of getting a two-pack of these stylish Anti Blue Light Reading Glasses in a lovely tea color, tailored for my prescription, was incredibly appealing. I was drawn in by the convenience and the promise of specific features like anti-blue light. However, my excitement was quickly tempered by the actual delivery experience. I had opted for what I thought was expedited shipping, but the process was anything but smooth. It reminded me very much of a comprehensive review I later came across, which perfectly articulated the frustration I felt. Michael Oakes, a customer, shared: "This place is nothing more than an automated business that cares nothing about its customers. They are a fraud, ripping customers off for services that they charge for and do NOT provide. I ordered twice from them before, without any need to return or exchange, so I never understood the negative reviews. The third time I ordered, their site said “eligible for next day delivery”. That would typically mean “next day”, right? So, I pay for the $19.95 next day delivery fee, pay for my glasses and hours later receive an email stating that “my order is in process and will take 3 business days”. Where is next day? Wait…it doesn’t stop there. I call their toll free line…automated…no human intervention. I try their “live chat”…automated bot. I email both their customer service and returns department asking for a refund of my $19.95 next day delivery fee since it’s clearly not meeting the requirements…crickets. I call their toll free number back and keep going through the menu and trying different options. I try the one that asks if I want to place an order…bingo, I get a human. So I propose my issue to that person and after several moments on hold I get told “I will submit your request to the billing department and it will be up to them”. Ummm, nope…you’re not providing a service that I paid for…refund my money. Agent wasn’t hearing that and ended the call. Horrible business. Horrible customer service. Everything is automated and forces you to interact with a live chat bot or an endless phone system that they hope you’ll just give up on from pure frustration. I will NEVER do business with this place again and will spread this review like the plague. Update 02-24-2025: Order placed 02-18 Label created 02-20 (not shipped as they stated) UPS in possession of package 02-21 Item in transit 02-22 Item delivered 02-24 Not “next day delivery” as their site clearly stated. Nothing to “produce” as the glasses had “Plano lenses” with no prescription so still not sure of the delay in “production” Still would not recommend this company based on their lack of replies to 6 emails requesting help. Their sugar coated response is lack luster and a poor attempt to cover up their extremely lacking customer service. Purchase elsewhere and avoid the issues that so many are having with this company." My experience mirrored his; the "next day" promise for my Anti Blue Light Reading Glasses turned into a frustrating week-long wait, and getting clear answers was indeed a challenge. This made the waiting process, filled with anticipation for my new glasses, quite anxiety-inducing.

When my Anti Blue Light Reading Glasses finally arrived in late February 2025, the frustration from the delivery delay began to recede slightly. The packaging was simple and functional, a sturdy box protecting the two pairs of glasses, each nestled in its own soft case. While it wasn't a luxury unboxing experience, it was perfectly adequate and ensured the glasses arrived safely. My first impression of the glasses themselves was overwhelmingly positive. They were indeed ultralight, almost unbelievably so, which instantly made me hopeful for long-term comfort. The "tea" color of the frames was subtle yet sophisticated, a soft translucent brown that complemented my skin tone without being too bold. The design was minimalist and sleek, exactly what I’d hoped for from the product images. The lenses felt clear and smooth, and the hinges, despite being lightweight, seemed sturdy enough. Holding them up, I could tell these were a significant step up from my previous generic pairs, both in aesthetics and perceived quality. They looked exactly as pictured online, which was a relief after the rocky delivery start.

Putting on the Anti Blue Light Reading Glasses for the first time was a revelation. The world of text snapped into crisp focus – no blurring, no distortion. The clarity was exceptional, and I immediately felt the relief on my eyes. The ultralight design meant they practically disappeared on my face; there was no pinching on the bridge of my nose or behind my ears, even after hours of wear. I used them extensively for reading e-books, working on my computer, and even knitting intricate patterns. The anti-blue light feature was a significant bonus; my eyes felt noticeably less fatigued by the end of long screen sessions compared to when I wore my old glasses. It’s hard to quantify, but that dull ache and redness I often experienced were significantly reduced. They stay put wonderfully too, no constant sliding down my nose, which is a common annoyance with other lightweight frames. My initial frustration with the delivery process completely melted away as soon as I started using the glasses daily. While the customer service and shipping delays, as highlighted by Michael Oakes, were genuinely disappointing and require serious improvement from Cinily Eyewear, the product itself is undeniably excellent. I haven’t encountered any of the quality control issues other negative reviews occasionally mention, like lens marks or stiff hinges. The comfort, clarity, and effectiveness of the blue light filter truly exceeded my expectations for the actual product.

Despite the initial hiccups with shipping and customer service, my overall feeling about Cinily Eyewear's Anti Blue Light Reading Glasses is positive, largely due to the product's quality. They truly are ultralight, comfortable, and the anti-blue light feature genuinely makes a difference in reducing eye strain from digital devices. For the price, and considering you get two pairs, I believe they offer good value. Would I recommend them? Yes, but with a caveat. If you prioritize excellent product quality, especially for specific needs like blue light protection and lightweight comfort, these glasses are fantastic. However, if you are someone who expects flawless "next day delivery" and needs prompt, human-centric customer service for any issues, you might need to prepare for potential frustration, as my experience and that of Michael Oakes clearly demonstrate. They are best suited for individuals who are patient with shipping times and appreciate a high-performing product over a seamless transactional experience. For me, the relief my eyes feel daily makes them worth the initial hassle.
