Finding the perfect pair of sunglasses has always been a quest. 🕶️🔍

Life lately has been a whirlwind of outdoor activities, and as someone who relies on prescription glasses, finding the perfect pair of sunglasses has always been a quest. My old pair, a hand-me-down from a friend, finally gave up the ghost early in 2025, leaving me squinting at the world and constantly swapping between my regular glasses and clip-on shades. This constant fumbling was not only annoying but also impractical, especially when driving or enjoying a quick game of tennis. I needed a dedicated pair of prescription sunglasses that could keep up with my active lifestyle, offer proper protection, and ideally, look good too. I’d seen ads for online eyewear retailers pop up on my feed for a while, promising convenience and affordability. The idea of getting stylish, custom-made lenses without the hassle of multiple trips to an optician was incredibly appealing. I was specifically on the hunt for polarized lenses to cut down glare and a sporty yet classic frame. The thought of finally having a seamless visual experience outdoors was my main driving force.

My search led me to Cinily Eyewear, primarily because of their extensive selection and competitive pricing. Browsing their website, I quickly gravitated towards the Cinily Pilot Myopia Sunglasses—the square pilot design with a double-beam looked exactly like what I needed for both style and practicality. The process of inputting my prescription was straightforward, and they even offered options for various coatings. I decided to splurge on express shipping, optimistically thinking I'd have my new shades in just a few days, perfect for an upcoming weekend trip in late 2025. This decision, in hindsight, was where my initial frustration began. Just like Braden Bell, who commented, "Ordered glasses early 2025, paid for express shipping 3-5 because my old glasses broke. Day 5 rolls around still in production, day 10 still in production," I found myself in a similar limbo. The projected delivery date kept shifting, and my anticipation slowly curdled into anxiety. Emails went unanswered for days, and the "live chat" felt anything but live, often cycling through automated responses before offering to transfer me to a human who never quite materialized.

This is where another customer’s incredibly detailed review resonated so deeply with my experience, echoing my exact sentiments about Cinily Eyewear's customer service and shipping. I believe it's worth sharing her full perspective, as it encapsulates so much of what I, and likely many others, have gone through:

"Firstly, be aware that the company replies to every negative review with the same answer….\"there was an issue with the product so it had to be remade\"! Garbage answer. I was ripped off for express shipping on several pairs and would never do that again! Look, I tried in vain to leave a review on the website, where my glasses are listed, but that doesn't work. So after about a 10 minute search I finally am able to leave a review! The customer service is the among the worst I have ever experienced. Just so you know, don't bother paying for the faster shipping because you still will have to wait a few weeks to get your glasses. So save yourself that money as it will only get your glasses to you in about 2 days sooner. Not worth that money. Moving on…..I didn't really expect too much quality in the actual glasses but I was proven wrong! I am happy to report that they sell quality frames and the lenses are superior to what I have gotten at Lens Crafters! And that is saying a lot! I did pay for the water and fingerprint protection coating and it has proven to be a wise choice! Don't expect to hear from anyone if you reach out by email. Don't expect to really get help with the \"chat\", even though you will be transferred to \"live agent\", or so they say. I am not sold on that as truth. I would have given them a 5 star but the worst ever customer service brings it down to a 3 star. What a shame. They have such a great opportunity to sweep the market for online glasses but they failed and it's all due to NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are the only ones to make a Bifocal lens..Not progressive, they also make those, but an actual LINED BIFOCAL, which is my preference. The height of the bifocal is a tad low for me, so still getting used to that. So, if you do order a bifocal, have your eye doctor give the correct height that you can pass on to Cinily Eyewear…..they have a standard height which is NOT for everyone. The true height of the bifocal is measured on a 1:1 and goes by the individual eyes. Finally, I also read in other review that they only accept ONE glass for return. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I have sent back 3 pairs so far and may not be done until I find the perfect pair for my face. THEY DO REFUND YOUR MONEY ON ALL GLASSES SENT IN FOR RETURN! Just be reasonable and return them within 14 days. Sadly, I have another pair of everyday wear coming that may fit my face better. But then I will be stuck with the pair I am currently wearing because this current pair is now 3 days past the 14 day window. Should I try to ask for help with this from the company? Yes, I should. Will I? No way will I because they have no one to help you!! I actually just changed the 3 star to a 2 star because of the piss poor customer service. Laughable."

Her words about the express shipping being a "garbage answer" and "not worth that money" perfectly encapsulated my frustration when my glasses, despite the expedited shipping fee, took over two weeks to arrive. The lack of human interaction, as Kevin Carroll also noted ("It’s been Impossible to get ahold of a live person to actually help get this resolved"), was profoundly aggravating. However, once the package finally landed on my doorstep, a glimmer of hope emerged. The packaging was simple and functional, nothing extravagant, but sufficient to protect the glasses. Unboxing them, I was genuinely surprised by the feel of the frames. They felt substantial and well-made, not flimsy or cheap as I might have half-expected from an online purchase. The design of the Square Nearsighted Sunglasses was sleek, and the polarized lenses had a satisfying tint. My initial impression of the product itself was immediately positive, a stark contrast to the preceding shipping ordeal.

Actually putting on the Cinily Pilot Myopia Sunglasses was a revelation. The prescription was spot-on, and the clarity through the polarized lenses was exceptional, cutting glare beautifully. I opted for the water and fingerprint protection coating, and it has proven to be a wise choice, as Denise also highlighted, confirming that it "has proven to be a wise choice!" Melanie Neff's brief but sweet comment, "Great quality, quick delivery. Quick and easy process to order them," certainly rings true for the product quality. The frames fit comfortably, snugly without being too tight, even during active use. I've worn them while cycling and fishing, and they stay put, offering a crisp, distortion-free view. The biggest upside, truly, is the lens quality; I found myself nodding along with Denise's strong endorsement that "the lenses are superior to what I have gotten at Lens Crafters! And that is saying a lot!" This really speaks volumes about the value offered here, making the world seem brighter and sharper.

Despite the initial pain points, my overall experience with the actual Cinily Pilot Myopia Sunglasses has been overwhelmingly positive. The quality of the frames and the optical clarity of the lenses far exceeded my expectations for the price point. Elizabeth Hall's simple declaration, "I am very satisfied with my new glasses… the price, the fit, and the quality!" perfectly encapsulates my feelings about the product itself. Would I recommend Cinily Eyewear? Yes, but with significant caveats. If you're patient and prioritize product quality over a smooth customer service experience, then these sunglasses are an excellent choice. However, if responsive support and speedy delivery are paramount for you, then be prepared for potential frustration. As Denise rightly concluded in her review, the superb product quality is unfortunately overshadowed by "the worst ever customer service." It’s a shame, because they truly have a fantastic product that could dominate the market if only their customer support matched the excellence of their eyewear.
